Friday 4 October 2013 - Ned’s Camp, Cape Range NP

Friday 4 October 2013 - Ned’s Camp, Cape Range NP

This place is pretty amazing. Every second or third day I get up and go for a morning run. If I get my act into gear, I set off before the sun comes up and then watch it emerge over the mountain range, which is obviously east of our camp. I scare away heaps of roos and one day I came up beside some emus. There are always stacks of them at the water tap where we get our shower and washing up water (it’s too salty to drink) and they are so used to people that when Glenn fills up the drums, they’re right beside him drinking the excess water that pools on the ground. In the afternoon, the setting sun glows golden over the sand dunes and escarpments, making a stroll to the toilet a nature appreciation session.
